Resolution to Grant Consent 120 New Homes in the Cotswolds
Kensington & Edinburgh Estates Ltd has been successful in their application to Cotswold District Council to develop land on the eastern edge of Fairford in the Cotswolds.
Following a public consultation in June of 2013, where plans were presented to the public, Kensington & Edinburgh Estates made an outline planning application, which the Council resolved to consent at a meeting in February 2014.
The development will consist of 120 homes ranging from two to four bedrooms, these new homes will be constructed in phases as demand dictates, with approximately 30 dwellings per year estimated, although the detail is yet to be released. 60 homes will be affordable dwellings, as well as land for a Doctors Surgery/Community Facility.
The properties will be designed to reflect and respect the local vernacular traditions with scale, design and materials appropriate for Fairford. Great attention will be given to landscaping, with flowering trees and traditional gardens defined by formal hedges and lawns, softened by flowering shrubs to offer picturesque residential properties you would expect in the heart of the Cotswolds.
A S106 agreement is being agreed and a planning consent should be issued in the spring of this year.
Once the consent is issued Kensington and Edinburgh Estates looks forward to progressing the reserved matters application and commencing development at the earliest opportunity.
